Join us in building a stronger, more vibrant Baltimore through the power of art and community!
This year’s campaign spotlights Art@Work, a transformative summer artist apprenticeship program that empowers Baltimore youth (ages 14–21) to create large-scale public murals in partnership with professional artists and neighborhood organizations.
Founded in 2015 by Jubilee Arts and the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts, Art@Work has become a cornerstone of creative workforce development in Baltimore. Through strong neighborhood partnerships, the program ensures community-driven design and lasting impact. Each summer, youth apprentices gain valuable skills in mural painting, design thinking, public speaking, financial literacy, and civic engagement while working alongside professional artists.
Community engagement is central to the process—youth interview residents, present design concepts for feedback, and host mural reveal celebrations that transform art into a catalyst for pride and revitalization. Beyond its cultural significance, Art@Work delivers tangible economic benefits by reducing blight, attracting foot traffic, and enhancing neighborhood vitality.
Impact Since 2015:
35+ murals created across Baltimore neighborhoods
340+ youth employed as artist apprentices
20+ professional artists engaged in mentorship
60+ community partners collaborating to strengthen neighborhoods
